Samantha The Panther Has Been Tasked To Lecture Meghan Markle's On Duchess Etiquette And Protocol

Meghan Markle’s career as the Duchess of Sussex has been off to a smooth start, and her teacher in all things royal, Samantha Cohen, wants to
keep it that way.

As Meghan settles into her new role, Cohen has been tasked with giving her lessons in duchess protocol over the next six months, according to The Times. So, what do we know about Cohen? Well, she’s certainly well suited for the job.

Nicknamed “Samantha the Panther,” Australian-born Cohen joined the palace staff in 2001 and was the first woman to be appointed to the role of press secretary. In 2016, she was promoted to Commander of the Royal Victorian Order by Queen Elizabeth herself. Cohen’s role as QE’s assistant ended in April, and beginning this summer, she’ll become Prince Harry’s interim private secretary. In the meantime, she’s focusing on getting Markle up to speed on the ways of the royals.

Which begs the question, what do duchess lessons entail? Well, turns out Princess Diaries wasn’t that far off.

According to reports, Cohen will teach Meghan etiquette surrounding British traditions like tea parties and formal banquets. She’ll also coach her through Royal Ascot and key events, garden parties, public outings and other royal engagements.
